Personal Reflection about PRC Resolution No. 2016-990

"There is no system in the world or any school in the country that is better than its teachers. Teachers are the lifeblood of the success of schools" - Sir Ken Robinson
The Professional Development is important for because the education is an ever growing and ever changing field. This means that a professional teacher/instructor must be lifelong learners in order to teach each new group of students. For me, a personal responsibility of professionals is to keep their knowledge and skills current, so that they can deliver the high quality of service that safeguards the public and private school. It is good to know that the Continuous Professional Development helps the team continue to make a meaningful contribution and to make them more effective in the workplace. It will assists to advance in career and move into new positions where they can lead, manage, influence, coach, and mentor others. If we all know the saying, Experience is a great teacher, it does mean that we tend to do what we have done before. We need to focused on CPD that opens up to new possibilities, new knowledge and new skill areas that can deliver to a deeper understanding of what it means to be a professional. The CPD ensures the capabilities keep pace with the current standards of others in the same field. Also, the CPD maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills to deliver a professional service to customers, clients, and the community. If the members or team ensures the knowledge stay relevant and up to date, they will become more aware of changing trends and directions in professional. The pace of change is probably faster than it's  ever been. But if you get left behind, the currency of knowledge and skills become outdated. I believe that professional development is very important for us especially to educators because it allows each individual to share, network, and remain current in the field. Professional Development is an ongoing process, which prepares educators to develop and expand upon their skill and knowledge. It benefits individual, their profession, and the public.

●Watch the following videos in youtube: "Pilipino Ako: Teacher Sabrina Ongkiko" and "Discovering your life's true calling - Lou Sabrina Ongkiko."

●Based on these videos, What is our life's true calling? How can you apply that in your calling to teach.

Our life's true calling is to love what you want and give all your effort and dedication to make your heart fulfill. Based on the videos that I watch, According to Ms. Lou Sabrina Ongkiko that the teaching is a passion and it is not only you like but you need to loved your job. For you to fulfill your heart's passion, you need to love your job that can give you an explainable smile and unconditional love. We all know that a teaching profession is not that easy because you've experienced a lot of difficult task and different students like a naughty and behave one. But after all of this unexplainable experiences, suddenly you will think of the the reason why you are here on this profession. Ms. Sabrina Ongkiko want  improve the learning's of the students, so that why she's in the profession of teaching. As a future educator, we need to set a goal just like to teach our students well and they learned about something on us not only on the academics but also to have a good morals. We need to be the influence to our students and to be the role model for them. My life's true calling is to teach in the future and to help the students learn, grow, and to be a productive individual in this society. I want them to apply all the learning that I share to them and use it properly in the near near future. Miss Sabrina Ongkiko also mention a three words on the video and these are Purpose, Context and Belief. You need to know the purpose of being a teacher, the context need to complete your mind because you knew already that your profession is not easy, and the belief you need to believe in yourself and you can help your students and also let you inspired them. I realized something after I watch the two videos that do your passion with all your heart and trust yourself that you can do it. Blog Entry 3 - Short Reflection

●Explain your thoughts about historical foundations, legal bases, and curricular reforms in the Philippines.

Education is very important in everyone, but not all has the opportunity to finish and earn their diplomas. To the Filipino, knowledge is acquired through education. Although they generally agree that education can be obtained inside and outside school, they believe that the primary sources of knowledge are the schools. Thus, building a strong foundation when it comes to education the government always there to set a law to make it effective for everyone.

The collaboration of the agencies in our society makes our educational system globalized because the quality of education can give a students like us to have a high knowledge, good experience, and to be a productive individual in our society. I am thankful and happy that our government implement the K-12 curriculum for us to have an adequate and appropriate education to everyone.

All of the transforming changes of the educational system and curriculum are strong manifestation of the perpetuating existing power structure and the evolution. Finally, educational system or curriculum evolves to the present context and needs as well as to the present structure of existing power in our society.
